I agree entirely about UDDI, but forking service directories isn’t going to fix the problem. If UDDI is dead, then give it a decent burial and move on (but let’s stay in step), if it’s not then help fix it.
yes but. UDDI failed to deliver. it was oversold, overhyped, and underwhelming. systinet may believe in uddi for everything, but i am not sure anyone else does. the standard it helped to establish? but uddi is *not* an established standard – its a vendor sports ball. Manes played a role in pushing UDDI and WS-splat as The Standard for SOA, so she is not without a strong interest.
