Trying to think of a name for a new business I’m helping set up … it’s a difficult process because so much of the first impression is based on it. There is also the potential hazard of working up a great name and finding someone else already uses it, or something close to it.
Short/long, what letter of the alphabet to start with, memorable, meaningful, descriptive, drop a syllable to be cute (or not), watch the language – I’m having fun! I’m coming up with a list that hopefully my colleague and I can reach some agreement on – wish me luck!

Always an interesting process. I’ve been engaged in a similar exercise. One thing we did was to start at the other end, so to speak, with the person on Google searching for the sort of services the particular business was offering. What phrases would they use, so what would be some keywords? Test those for SEO. Then is there a business name using a tested phrase/ keywords, that has an available domain?
If all that fits together it is easier to do the SEO with the keywords you hope people will use in your url, your site title and of course in the body content. We got one, then ditched the one we had been playing around with but which looked like being a dud from an SEO viewpoint. Challenging.
A spinoff was that a logo for the one we chose on SEO grounds was easier to do than the alternative – for what it’s worth the chosen one had three words and the alternative had four.
